Delete your account
You can permanently erase your Pantrease account at any time. This page explains both the in-app flow and the email-based path for users who can't reach the app.
From inside the app
- Open Pantrease and sign in if needed
- Tap the Settings tab in the bottom nav
- Scroll to Delete account
- Type your email address to confirm, then re-enter your password (or re-authenticate with Apple if you signed in that way)
- Tap Delete forever
By email
If you can't access the app (lost phone, app uninstalled, etc.), email us from the address on your Pantrease account:
Email a deletion requestWe process requests within 7 days. Confirmation comes from the same email address. To prevent fraudulent deletion attempts, the request must come from the email on your account.
What gets erased
Account deletion is permanent. The following are erased immediately:
- Your user profile (name, email, avatar, dietary profile)
- Your AI usage counters
- Your authentication record (you can no longer sign in)
- Your avatar photo in cloud storage
- Your membership in every household
Cooking-log entries you authored are anonymized (your name removed) so other household members' history stays coherent. The pantry items, shopping lists, and saved recipes that belong to households you were part of remain in those households for the other members.
If you were the only member of a household, the household and all its data are deleted entirely.
What we keep, briefly
For legal and operational reasons we retain very limited data after deletion:
- Anonymized payment / subscription transaction records (handled by Apple, not us)
- Aggregate, non-identifying telemetry (e.g., total daily AI request counts) — your individual usage is gone
